Peskot ("we", "us", "our") operates the Peskot mobile application and website (collectively, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our Service.

By using the Service, you consent to the data practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not access or use the Service.

You may use the app as a guest without creating an account. Guest users are assigned a temporary anonymous profile. Some features, such as chat, require a registered account.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide

• Account data: When you create an account, we collect your username, email address, and password. Guest users do not provide personal information.
• Waitlist data: If you sign up for our waitlist, we collect your email address.
• Profile information: Any additional information you choose to add to your profile, such as a display name or avatar.
• Chat messages: Messages you send through in-game chat (quick messages during gameplay and global chat) or customer support inquiries. Chat messages may be stored for moderation and safety purposes. Messages may be visible to other users in game sessions or global chat environments.

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

• Device information: Device type, operating system, unique device identifiers, and mobile network information.
• Usage data: Game statistics, session duration, features used, and interaction patterns.
• Log data: IP address, browser type, access times, and referring URLs.
• Anonymous usage data: Guest users' game activity and session data are collected to provide the service. This data is associated with an anonymous identifier, not personal information.

2.3 Cookies and Similar Technologies

We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to enhance your experience on our website:

• Essential cookies: Necessary for the website to function properly, including remembering your cookie preferences.
• Analytics cookies: We use Vercel Analytics to understand how visitors interact with our website. This data is aggregated and anonymized.

You can control cookie preferences through the cookie consent banner on our website or your browser settings. Declining analytics cookies will not affect your ability to use the site.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide, operate, and maintain the Service
• Track your points and game progress
• Match you with other players for games
• Maintain leaderboards and rankings
• Deliver in-game gifts and notifications
• Send you launch notifications if you joined the waitlist

4. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), our legal basis for processing your personal data is:

• Performance of a contract: Processing necessary to provide the Service, including account management and gameplay.
• Legitimate interests: Fraud prevention, security, improving the Service, and communicating about features.
• Consent: Marketing communications and optional data uses, where you have given explicit consent.
• Legal obligation: Where processing is required to comply with applicable law.

5. Sharing of Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information in the following limited circumstances:

• Other players: Your username, avatar, game statistics, and ranking are visible to other players on the global leaderboard. By creating an account and playing, you consent to your game scores and statistics being displayed publicly on the leaderboard.
• Service providers: We use third-party services for hosting (Supabase), analytics, and push notifications that may process your data on our behalf.
• Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights, safety, or property.

6. International Data Transfers

We use Supabase for database hosting and authentication. Your data may be stored and processed in data centers located within the European Union or, in some cases, in the United States. Where data is transferred outside the EEA, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place in accordance with applicable data protection laws, including Standard Contractual Clauses where required.

7. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. Waitlist emails are retained until launch notification is sent, after which you may request deletion. Game statistics and leaderboard data may be retained in anonymized form.

You may delete your account and all associated data directly from the app (Profile → Delete My Account), or by contacting us at privacy@peskot.com. Deletion requests are processed immediately for in-app requests or within 30 days for email requests.

Guest (anonymous) accounts and their associated data may be automatically deleted after extended periods of inactivity.

8. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information, including encryption of data in transit and at rest, secure authentication, and regular security assessments. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Messages are encrypted in transit using industry-standard security protocols (TLS). Messages are not end-to-end encrypted and may be accessed for moderation and safety purposes.

9. Children's Privacy

The Service is available to users of all ages. Users under 13 may use the app as guests but are not permitted to create a registered account or use chat features. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Children under 13 may play as guests without providing any personal information. Parents or guardians may contact us at privacy@peskot.comto request deletion of any data associated with their child's use of the app.

10. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten")
• Object to or restrict processing of your data
• Request data portability
• Withdraw consent at any time (without affecting prior processing)
